Tutankhamun – The Tomb, the Treasure, the Discovery

Covered Promenade of the Bastion of Saint Remy | until 4 October

For the first time, Cagliari welcomes a major exhibition dedicated to Tutankhamun, the pharaoh who, more than any other, has captured the imagination of the modern world of Ancient Egypt.

At the Covered Promenade of the Bastion of Saint Remy, a spectacular exhibition brings the symbolic and ritual world of Ancient Egypt to life: the burial chambers, the funerary objects, and the stages of the extraordinary discovery in 1922, which forever changed the history of archaeology.

The exhibition features official replicas, certified by the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, of the most iconic objects from Tutankhamun’s treasure: faithful reproductions that make one of the most important archaeological legacies in history accessible to the general public today.

Discover an exhibition designed for enthusiasts, families and schools.

Explore the mystery of Tutankhamun in Cagliari

The exhibition presents the only official replicas, certified by the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, of the most representative artefacts from the magnificent treasure of Tutankhamun. This evocative exhibition showcases the richly furnished tomb, the stages of the extraordinary discovery and the many fascinating stories surrounding it.

Today, the more than 5,000 objects belonging to Tutankhamun’s treasure are gathered together for the first time in history at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo (GEM), inaugurated in November 2025. Thanks to the replicas currently travelling on a world tour, this priceless heritage can be experienced and appreciated by the general public.

    An immersive exhibition

Scenographic reconstructions, immersive technology and virtual reality take visitors on a journey back in time, allowing them to relive the excitement of the discovery of the most famous funerary monument of antiquity, just as its discoverer, British archaeologist Howard Carter, did in 1922.

    For younger visitors

The entire exhibition is enriched with insights and activities specially designed for younger visitors, helping them understand the objects and settings while discovering fascinating facts about the life of the boy pharaoh and his extraordinary story.

    Until 4 October 2026
