The 2026 summer music programme of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari begins with two special concerts.
Great anticipation surrounds the two opening performances of Rotte Sonore Summer, taking place on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 July at 8.30 pm. The summer music programme 2026 of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari includes one opera production and four concerts performed by the Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico (two of which will feature the Teatro Lirico Choir). The performances will take place in a new, fascinating and symbolic location in the city of Cagliari, in one of the island’s most important and significant archaeological areas, as well as at the Teatro Comunale di Sassari, Piazza Satta in Nuoro, and in two important towns in the Sulcis and Ogliastra areas.
The 2026 Summer Music Programme presents 14 evenings of performances, running from 7 July to 8 August, across five different musical programmes. The Orchestra and Choir of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari take centre stage, with the Choir directed by Giovanni Andreoli, in a series of performances of outstanding artistic value.
The first appointment is on 7 and 8 July at the brand-new, spacious and welcoming Parco del Nervi in Cagliari, where the Teatro del Mare has been created to host the concert of an extraordinary artist with a unique career: Amii Stewart.
Born in Washington, Amii Stewart is an internationally acclaimed star of disco music, as well as of theatre, Italian music and the international music scene. Since 2000 she has lived in Sardinia, in Porto Cervo, a place she loves for its connection with nature, its tranquillity and the beauty of its landscape.
Despite her countless performances around the world, this marks her debut with the Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, conducted on this occasion by Peppe Arezzo, who also oversees the piano accompaniment and arrangements.
The performance will feature Alberto Fidone on double bass and electric bass, and Peppe Tringali on drums.
