The Marina quarter: fresh breeze from the sea

Overlooking the sea, the Marina quarter, once housed the port workers, customs officers, fishermen and the lower classes of Cagliari. Developed using a system of parallel and perpendicular streets, it borders on the picturesque Via Roma, the first glimpse of the town for visitors arriving by sea, with its portico and palaces dating back to the start of the last century.
The quarter houses several of the most important town monuments: the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Church of Saint Agostino, and the gothic-catalan Church of Saint Eulalia.
